You wouldn't believe how long it took to create this rather basic looking animation on the left. In fact unless you enter the blog you won't see anything at all. I was inspired by watching the hand drawn animations accompanying Sir Ken Robinsons TED talk on changing education and the minute physics series so I decided to find out how they were done. Well the TED lecture as done by the Royal Academy of Arts, so that's how they manage to draw so fast. Minute physics are not quite so artistic but still way beyond my skill level. I was hoping I'd find a progam that did it all for me but it seems someone still has to draw the images. Anyway, undeterred I decided to have a go with my tablet PC. First I drew a car whilst videoing the screen with camtasia. Then I edited out all the gaps and speeded it up. To make the car moved I pasted the car and road into interactive physics, attached them to two frictionless blocks and ran the animation. Then the tricky bit, had to make the positions and size match. As you can see I failed.
